Our Story

How It All Began

Our story didn’t start in a movie-style coffee shop; it started in the busy aisles of Walmart while we were both working there on different departments.HIS POV
Right from the beginning, I noticed she was a loud, fun person who didn’t take life too seriously. Plus, I couldn’t help but notice she was pretty cute, too.
What I admire most about her is her strength, she has a massive heart and takes care of everyone, but she’s also got an iron will and never backs down from a challenge.
HER POV
For a long time, we were just two people who shared a work space and the occassion “hello.” He is actually one of the most easy-going guys I knew. Our friendship blossomed quickly, fueled by his effortless nature. From few text messages, to simple hanging outs, and food cravings into a permanent lunch break.
HIS POV
In the early days, we kept our relationship under wraps, which led to some pretty funny “secret” moments. I’ll never forget being in the break room when she jokingly handed me a used, dirty napkin. I gave her a look of pure confusion, and she just started laughing before finally handing me a clean one. It was a small moment , but it’s a perfect example of how we’ve always been able to make each other laugh.
HER POV
We spent our early days keeping our romance “hush-hush” at work, enjoying the magic of a private connection. The turning point? A hilarious date to the conservatory where he tried to “wow” me with the tropical plants – only for me to point out I’d grown up with them in the backyard. His response? “You could have at least pretended!“ He got his revenge, though; he chose that same lush greenery setting that remind me of home and the man who feels like home, and that time his ability to surprise me was a success – he asked me to be his wife.

Since then, our world has grown in the best ways possible. beyond our hunt for the city’s best restaurants, our biggest adventure has been raising our little family. We’ve been blessed with a handsome little boy and a cute little girl who kept our lives full of energy, the heart of everything we do.

Two coworkers at Unicity Walmart who had no idea they'd end up here.

Bringing our kids to the Philippines for their first birthdays — a trip we'll never forget.

The proposal

Over dinner at Gather at the Leaf in Winnipeg — the perfect moment after a little extra courage.

Our thing

Always on the hunt for a new restaurant. If there's good food, we're there.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time."
